A New Prophet Like Moses

The LORD your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren.  Him you shall hear, according to all you desired of the LORD your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, 'Let me not hear again the voice of the LORD my God, nor let me see this great fire anymore, lest I die.'  And the LORD said to me: 'What they have spoken is good.  I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.  And i shall be that whoever will not hear My words, which He speaks in My name, I will require it of him.  But the prophet who presumes to speak a word in My name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who speaks in the name of oher gods, that prophet shall die.

Be Free From Anxieties

Jonah preaches at Nineveh

Now the word of the LORD came to Jonah the second time, saying:  “Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.”  So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD.  Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent, and Jonah began to enter the city on the first day’s walk.  Then he cried out and said, “yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown!”  So the people of Nineveh believed God, proclaimed a fast and put on sackcloth, from the greatest to the least of them.  Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.

The First Disciples

Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples.  And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, "Behold the Lamb of God!"  The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.  Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, "What do you seek?"  They said to Him, "Rabbi" (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), "where are You staying?"  He said to them, "Come and see."  They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).  One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter's brother.  He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, "We have found he Messiah." (which is translated, the Christ).  And he brought him to Jesus.  Now when Jesus looked at him, He said "You are Simon the son of Jonah."  You shall be called Cephas (which is translated, A Stone).

2012 Catholic Marriage Preparation Weekend

There will be a Marriage Preparation Weekend for all those who intend to get married.

Date: Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th March 2012

Venue: Good Shepherd Seminary, No. 44, Jln Laksamana Cheng Ho, Melaka

Registration fee:RM 250.00 per couple inclusive of lodging and food.

Closing Date: 19th February, 2012
